DE-STA-CO Announces the Acquisition of Industrial Motion Control, LLC

Auburn Hills, Mich.-based DE-STA-CO, which designs and makes clamping, gripping, transfer and robotic tooling products, acquired Industrial Motion Control (IMC) in December.
"IMC's products serve a variety of attractive end markets and are a key upfront consideration in the design of new industrial automation systems," says DE-STA-CO President Pat Carroll. "Their products' strong brand names and channels, combined with early visibility into industrial automation project requirements, will pull through additional DE-STA-CO automation products."
Adds IMC President Jeff Peterson, "We are very excited about this new partnership, knowing that DE-STA-CO products complement IMC's product portfolio."
IMC will be part of DE-STA-CO’s Automation group, which includes Robohand® grippers, linear slides, tooling end effectors, and modular belt conveyors.

Configure your IM-pAC AC Drive for Overload Protection

With some simple configuration changes, the IM-pAC AC drive can be used as electronic overload protection. This is useful in situations where mechanical output overload protection can't be used, such as in a lifting application, or isn't available, as with a parts handler.

Industrial Motion Control, L.L.C. (IMC) introduces the new CAMCO Modular Tabletop Precision Link Conveyors for the specialty automation industry. This advanced product line enables designers and engineers to conceptualize, cost, design, build and deliver automation systems quickly.
Conveyor features include:
- Standard footprint for three sizes of precision links (3-inch, 4.5-inch, 6-inch) to accommodate various models of IMC’s linear and rotary parts handlers.
- Standard incremental lengths of 18 inches per module. Modules can be added as needed
- Tapped holes along the length of the conveyor to receive custom or standard tooling plates
- Open backbone to allow electrical, pneumatic and mechanical components to pass through the conveyor.

Instructions for customizing your IM-pAC AC Drive are now available for download on the Service Manual page including:
- Default Parameter List and Common Wiring Diagram
- Operater Pendant: Parameter List and Wiring Diagram for customer made operator pendant with speed pot and inhibit and start switches
- 4-Speed Operator Pendant: Parameter List and Wiring Diagram for customer made operator pendant with speed pot and inhibit and start switches and the ability to switch between four different values for the maximum motor speed. This can be used for recovering from an emergency stop or mid-cycle stop when a slower speed is needed
- Brake Motor: Parameter List and Wiring Diagram for a brake motor using a 24VDC piloting relay and power supply. The IM-pAC drive controls the brake and acts as the motor starter.
- Proximity Switch: Parameter List and Wiring Diagram for use with a proximity switch (instead of a mechanical switch) to signal the dwell position.
