Precision link conveyors provide designers and engineers with a multiple-station chassis for the assembly of more complicated products. Conveyors up to 40 feet long can provide as many as 320 workstations for a special-purpose assembly machine. The new Modular Tabletop Conveyor Series offers significant advantages to machine builders and end users:

Permanent magnet DC motors have traditionally been the choice for cycle-on-demand indexer applications. Their inherent low inertia, combined with simple controls that provide voltage/speed variation and dynamic brake resistors, have been in use for decades. Their one disadvantage is brush wear.
New developments in AC variable frequency controls, along with lower manufacturing costs, allow engineers to specify AC solutions that eliminate the brush wear problem. IMC offers several models of variable-frequency AC cycling controls that provide cycling rates up to 60 cycles (starts and stops) per minute. Additional advantages include PLC functions local to the control that can be used to provide velocity, emergency stop and current overload stop commands, as required.
