New Camco® Ring Drive series features large through-holes

Industrial Motion Control, L.L.C. introduces the new Camco® Ring Index Drive featuring dramatically larger through-holes to accommodate a variety of automated machinery and equipment.

Ring Index Drive Family

Available in three sizes with nominal ring diameters of 1 meter, 1.5 meters and 2 meters, with 6 to 60 stops, the Camco Ring Drive series is ideally suited for pad printing and decorating equipment and for automatic assembly machinery that requires a large number of workstations.

“Locating equipment in the large center through-hole frees up the outer periphery of the automated machinery for operator accessibility and additional auxiliary equipment,” says Jeff Peterson, vice president of marketing at IMC. “The new Camco ring drives also allow machine builders to have a larger number of workstations for assembly of more complex products. With the cam located near the radius of the workstations, we achieve excellent accuracy and repeatability.”

Additional features of the three new Camco index ring drives include:

Indexers stable in high-speed applications

Cam-actuated indexers demonstrate high stability in dwell in high-speed indexing applications. In printing, decorating and visual inspection processes, rapid settling time is important in order to commence with the work required at that particular station. Cam technology offers near instantaneous settling into dwell, as demonstrated at last September's Assembly Technology Show in Chicago, IL.

Working with Motion Engineering and their Fastec Troubleshooter High Speed Camera, IMC-Camco-Ferguson Engineers captured the smooth motion of an indexer operating at 1200 starts and stops per minute, with a "perfect" stop at the dwell position.
